About Fablyos

Fabulous stories, written as you play.

Fablyos is a name built from two older ones: Fables, the stories told to carry something true inside something imagined, and biblyos — the root behind "bibliotheca," a library of books. Put together, that's what we set out to build: a library of little books, except every one of them is written for the one person reading it, as they read it.

Most AI stories are a single reply, gone the moment you scroll past it. We wanted something that remembers — a story that is still the same story a hundred passages later.

Why we built it

Interactive fiction has always made a trade: the branching kind gives you real choices but only a handful of endings; the freeform kind gives you anything you ask for but forgets who you were two pages ago. We wanted neither trade. Fablyos keeps a living memory of your characters, the world they're in, and the shape of the story so far, and writes every new passage against that memory — so the companion who swore to find you again, does; the grudge your rival is holding, holds. A short session is still fun. A story that runs for weeks is where Fablyos is really meant to live.

That's the whole project, really: not a flashier way to generate text, but a steadier one — stories built to last, in worlds built to be returned to.

What that looks like day to day

Continuous, not one-shot

Characters, places and ongoing plots are tracked as the story runs, so the world keeps its own continuity instead of leaning on you to re-explain it.

Worlds you can return to

Build or pick a world once, then keep telling stories in it — your own, or continuing ones other players started and chose to share.

Yours, and kept that way

Your stories are encrypted to your own account. We can't read them, and we don't train on them or sell them.

Guardrails that hold

Every passage and picture runs through the same safety pipeline, whatever the content level. See our Trust & Safety page for the specifics.

Where we are

Fablyos is a small, independently run project — right now still in testing, with a short invite list of players helping us find the rough edges before we open the doors. If you're reading this after that, welcome: you're reading the "about" page of a library that's still being built, one book at a time.
